Abel Saldaña

Hello and welcome — I’m grateful you’re here.

My name is Abel Saldaña, and I’m a poetry and speculative fiction writer deeply interested in the intersections of memory, identity, and transformation. Much of my work explores what it means to remain human in environments—emotional, digital, or extraterrestrial—that push us to the edge of that very definition. Whether I’m writing from the quiet ache of a hospital room or the barren plains of Mars, I try to chart the emotional landscapes we carry inside us, even when the outside world refuses to stay still.

Two projects are currently in the works:

• Science Fiction Novel – Title Undisclosed
This forthcoming novel is a work of speculative fiction that asks: what remnants of Earth do we bring with us when we leave it behind? Set in a sprawling city across the surface of another planet, it follows the unraveling—and reforging—of relationships as trauma, nostalgia, and ethical compromise test the limits of survival. It’s a story of memory, isolation, and hope—written with a human pulse at its center.

• To Be Announced (poetry collection)
My upcoming poetry collection peels back the skin of the everyday to examine what lives beneath. These poems move through themes of grief, healing, love, addiction, and the quiet moments between collapse and recovery. Written in a voice both contemporary and intimate, the collection seeks to honor emotional complexity without flinching.
